Welcome to Through Infertility and Beyond!

When it comes to motherhood, I have come to the realization that nearly everyone has some sort of struggle. There are so many aspects surrounding the attempt to achieve and to excel at motherhood that can be overwhelmingly painful: infertility, miscarriage, perilous pregnancies, traumatic childbirth, infant loss, postpartum mental health crisis, or overwhelm and burnout as a mother. There is no need to judge or compare our burdens to those around us. We can feel our pain, we can allow others to feel their pain. One scale of pain cannot be compared to another. We can reach out with love and support to all those who are going through THEIR hard time, whether or not we can relate to how they feel. I hope that this website will evolve into a place where all can bring their burdens and their joys and be lifted up in the hope for a bright future.

I know without a doubt that God still provides miracles for those who seek them and those who acknowledge them (even when we feel completely and utterly undeserving of them). These miracles may not look or feel like what we plan or imagine, but if we let God prevail, He will make more of our lives than we ever could. Don’t give up hope, trust or faith. He is real and He loves us.

My story of coming into motherhood is pretty amazing when I look back and see how all the pieces fit together. It didn’t feel that way for a long time, but now I can see it. It took some hard lessons, including coming to the realization that my faith couldn’t depend on getting the results I wanted, but instead needed to be founded firmly in a knowledge that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, knows me, and wants to bless me in ways that I may not fully realize or understand. That lesson (along with my beautiful children) is one of the greatest reasons that I can now feel gratitude for the struggles I have been through to become a mother. Trials can strengthen us or break us (and sometimes break us to strengthen us), but if we can keep the faith, then we will end up on top, no matter what lies beyond.

Wherever you are right now on your journey, I would love to hear from you! If you would like to hear more about my journey to motherhood and how God can strengthen us through the journey, please check out my book, Miracles to Motherhood: A Journey Through Infertility and Adoption.
